Meet Jason Verlinden. He’s studying Information Security Management at Thomas More and he recently finished his internship at Redify, a division of Integration Designers 

Let’s have a look at how Jason experienced his time with us.

1. Hey Jason, can you briefly introduce yourself to the readers?

I’m Jason and I’m studying Information Security Management at Thomas More University College and recently finished my internship at Redify

Redify is a team of integration specialists that delivers integration solutions, services and support for Red Hat Open Source integration projects. 

2. What was the focus of your internship?

Together with Didier Clabaut it was decided that my goal should be to dive deep into 3scale: a Redhat solution used for sharing, controlling and securing APIs. 

My internship was more research oriented so I was given an extensive questionnaire about 3scale that I had to fill out. 

3. That sounds interesting! What was your workflow like?

First, I spent a few weeks learning what 3scale is and how the software works. Once I had understood it, I put my knowledge into practice by filling out the questionnaire. 

4. How did your colleagues at Redify help you?

Didier, managing partner of Redify, and I agreed to meet at the end of every day to discuss the current status and ask questions. Sometimes there were no issues or questions so the meetings were brief, but it was nice to always have a moment available to catch up with each other.

5. Aside from the work itself, how did you experience the culture at Redify?

The culture was so much more open than I expected. Everyone was always willing to help and share their knowledge. I also appreciated that the managers were open to adapt the internship to my needs. 

Besides that, I got the opportunity to participate in events for knowledge sharing and improving team spirit. For example, we participated in an annual hackathon that involved solving a client case with technology we weren’t familiar with. 

6. That’s fantastic to hear! What are your plans for the future?

After the summer, I’m going back to college for a few months to learn about the data side of Information Security Management. 

My colleagues have also signed me up for a karting championship for IT professionals so we’ll keep in touch.

7. How would you sum up your internship at Redify?

The last months of my internship have been challenging and a lot of fun. Thanks to the team for this experience.
